Through JEC’s Cooperative Solar Program, members can invest in a portion of our utility-scale solar projects. You’ll then receive credits on your monthly power bill based on solar energy production.

This feature allows you to enjoy similar benefits as members who have installed their own solar panels without the long-term investment and liability of rooftop solar.

Pricing and Energy Output – The monthly charge for each 1 kW solar energy block is $19.50.  Each block should generate between 136 and 237-kilowatt hours of energy per month based on several variables such as the sun’s position, the season of the year, the number of cloudy days, and other factors.

Billing – For $19.50 per month for each solar block, members will receive credit on their monthly bill for the kilowatt-hours generated by the block(s).  If fewer kilowatt-hours are used during the billing period than the amounts generated by the solar energy block(s), a credit will be given for the excess energy per Jefferson Energy’s Net Metering Scheduling.

All residential JEC members qualify for the Cooperative Solar Program.  Even if you are a renter and cannot install solar panels yourself, the program enables you to access solar energy, support the growth of solar, and utilize renewable energy for your energy usage.
